BASEBALL The No. 5 seed Dragons were to take on No. 9 seed San Marin in an NCS Division III semifinal game last night. Check bracket. The Dragons came off an impressive 14-4 victory over Justin-Siena last Friday to advance. Winner of the semi-final will advance to the NCS Division III section championship game against either the No. 2 seed Campolindo or No. 6 seed Kennedy of Fremont.
SOFTBALL The No. 6 seed Dragons take on No. 2 seed Concord in an NCS Division II semifinal game tonight at 5pm at Concord High School. Check bracket. The Dragons won the quarter finals game vs. Casa Grande lead by Jayla Dailey who hit a 2 run homer and Nicole Hammoude with a solo home run in the bottom of the 6th. Winner of tonight’s game will play either the No. 4 seed Carondolet High School or the No. 9 seed Livermore.
TRACK The Bishop O’Dowd Dragons finished 4th as a women’s team at the NCS Meet of Champions this past weekend at U.C. Berkeley. Tierra Robinson-Jones lead the Dragons as she won the 400m and the 200m setting a meet record with her time of 52.6 seconds. This time improves her already state leading time and puts her at #4 in the U.S. She will advance to the State championships along with O’Dowd’s Jazlynn Gibbs who will compete in the 100m and the 4x100m relay team that placed first (Jordan Jones, Tierra Robinson-Jones, Kandace Blackshire, Jazlynn Gibbs). The State championships will be held at Buchanan High School in Fresno this Friday and Saturday.
