Seniors Recognized at Awards Ceremony

Members of the Class of 2017 were recognized for outstanding achievement in academics, as well as service to Bishop O’Dowd High School and the greater community, at the annual Senior Awards Ceremony held in the large gymnasium on May 10.

In addition to a number of specific academic and extracurricular program awards earned by members of the senior class, 54 seniors were recognized for having a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 or better through the semester ending December 2016, including Mariana Alvear, Dana Angeles, Zoe Appel, Nina Bartelt-Eells, Reina Bonta, Natalia Brusco, Audrey Byrne, Tri-An Cao, Milan Champion, Xuelai Chen, Brandon Choy, Jerome Deck, Ana Vitoria Do Valle Costa, Madeleine Farrington, Sarah Folkmanis,, Jiawei Fu, Jenna Grady, Linnea Gullikson, Juliana He, Carla Ho, Chase Holliman, Carlie Houser, Haoyang Huang, Stefano Hurtado, Michael Hwang, Aris Jernigan, Tyler Jorgensen, Eunice Jung, Benjamin Lancaster, Chaerin Lim, Elijah Lonner, Amado Lozano, Madeleine Murphy, Bridget Nix, Marina Ramsey, Zoe Rennie, Elizabeth Rezente, Nicolas Riani, Jonquil Rumberger, Kate Shiber, Tiffany Sin, Miranda Sinsheimer, Samantha Szuhaj, Dayuan Tang, Dazheng Tang, Grace Taylor, Yuxuan Wang, Emma Wawrzynek, Gloria Waxman, Isabel Weinerth, Danielle West, Kristina Wooldridge, Christian Yau-Weeks and Sophia Yau-Weeks.

Students recognized as the “Top 10 Seniors” included (in alphabetical order) Audrey Byrne, Brandon Choy, Jenna Grady, Linnea Gullikson, Carla Ho, Chase Holliman, Eunice Jung, Elijah Lonner, Dayuan Tang and Sophia Yau-Weeks.

At the Awards Ceremony it was announced that Eunice Jung will serve as valedictorian at the June 4 Commencement Exercises at the Paramount Theatre of the Arts.
