More than 30 O’Dowd drama students participated in the 24th Annual Ohlone College High School Theatre Festival this past weekend. Competing in many different categories, from Shakespeare to musical theater, monologues to design, dance and video, five of our talented students brought home well-deserved trophies.
Nora Hurley ’18 won first place in Original Monologues (Dress Code), Ruby Perez ’18 took home a first place in Classical Women’s Monologue (A Winter’s Tale), Nathalie Rivera-Mayorga ’18 and Liana Willis ’19 won first place honors for Classical Humorous Ensemble (Twelfth Night), and Sophie Friedman ’19 took third place in Contemporary Humorous Monologues (Greater Tuna).
The Ohlone College High School Theatre Festivals attracts over 1,000 students from high schools across the state and beyond.
