
The O’Dowd chemistry textbook “Living Chemistry,” co-written by faculty member Jan Coonrod, has a cameo appearance in the summer blockbuster release “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” Coonrod isn’t quite sure how the book was selected – perhaps it was the colorful cover – but is excited by the turn of events.
And, she thinks it’s really cool that the movie focuses on Spider-Man’s teenage experience. “Usually these movies have a doomsday scenario, but this one is about him struggling to come to grips with his gift,” she said.
