Come to the Alumni Grand Reunion and reconnect with Jack Dold, a faculty member at O’Dowd from 1963-1974. He taught German and history, served as Dean of Boys, was the school’s first lay vice principal, and coached freshman and JV basketball.
He’s got lots of great stories including the time he apologized for yelling at a student who was kicked out of class.
“I went and got him out of class again and apologized to him, telling him that I was way overboard in our first meeting that morning. He told me, ‘I’ll accept your apology, Mr. Dold, if you don’t tell a soul about this.’ When I asked him why, he said that he was a hero for getting busted twice in the same morning and he didn’t want to lose his reputation.”
