Congratulations to the Girls and Boys Cross Country teams on a historic season. Both the girls and boys teams won the WACC League Championship and advanced to the CIF State Championship as NCS top seeded teams.
NCS Championships
As a result of smoke and an AQI above the allowable limit, neither team raced in the Division 4 race. At that time an executive committee made selections for advancement based on season rankings. With this, both girls and boys teams advanced to the CIF State Cross Country Championships- the girls as the #1 seed in Division 4, the boys as the #4 seed. Though the NCS Championship race was not run for Division 4, as the #1 team in the section the O’Dowd girls were awarded the team championship. Individual honors were given to seniors Jeneva Toolajian and Isabella Brusco as well as freshman Lily Yu.

At the CIF State Championships the O’Dowd girls came in ranked 10th and finished 5th (just 9 points out of 3rd place) in a very competitive field. Lead by senior Jeneva Toolajian the girls finished with a total of 202 points. The future looks bright for the Dragons as the varsity girls team is made up of 2 seniors, 1 junior and 4 freshman. This is the 4th year in a row that the O’Dowd girls team has qualified for State and the second highest finish in the last 15+ years.
