Gene Yang Wins MacArthur Fellowship

Former O’Dowd teacher Gene Yang was last week named a winner of a MacArthur fellowship, awarded for exceptional “originality, insight and potential,” and will receive a $625,000 grant over five years. In January, Gene was the first graphic novelist named a national ambassador for children’s literature by the Library of Congress.
