The annual Associated Student Body Nominating Convention got off to a strong start on March 28, with keynote speaker Courtney Cecelia Welch ’05 – an Affordable Housing Program Coordinator for HomeownershipSF – delivering an inspiring message to students.
“Stay engaged. There’s no age requirement on being an advocate. There’s no age requirement on being a change maker in your community. If you see something wrong in this community, feel free to say something. And if something doesn’t make sense to you, ask,” Welch said.
During the convention, held in the small gymnasium, student delegates from all grade levels selected candidates for the 2019-20 Associated Student Body Executive Council.
Voting took place on April 2, after the candidates delivered speeches, and the ASB Executive Council members for 2019-20 are: President Aeon Levy ’20, Vice President Hugh Velline ’20, Secretary Chisom Nlemigbo ’21 and Treasurer Bob Cushing ’20.
