What inspired you to do this kind of work? My daughter going to school at O’Dowd and the recent closing of my business.
What is your position here and how long have you worked at O’Dowd? They call me the “plant engineer.” I fix stuff and keep the other stuff working. I have been at O’Dowd since 1993 as a soccer coach (JV girls) and since 2006 in my current position.
What is the best piece of advice you ever received (generally – it doesn’t have to be related to O’Dowd)? To have no regrets.
What is your favorite thing about your job? I love the people I work with and the students.
What about your field or position do you think would surprise people the most? I have a B.S. in mechanical engineering from UCSB (1982) and ran an engineering/industrial sales company, designing pump and air compressor systems. I worked there for 35 years.
What is the most interesting or surprising thing about you? I am an avid fisherman. I have been traveling to Baja since 1979 (driving) and have been a tour guide for fishermen since 1983. During college I worked cleaning fish and cooking on a boat. I should be living in Baja, it is where I belong.
If you could rescue only one thing from your burning office, what would it be? Team photos of old soccer teams.

What is your favorite kind of music/what are your favorite bands? Old school rock. Dave Edmunds- British pub rock What is your favorite sports team or who is your favorite individual athlete? SF 49ers and Giants (born in the City) and Notre Dame (father’s school). Commitment, trust, love is a belief at Notre Dame and I want the O’Dowd kids to live it also.
