With more than 500 in attendance this year, the 2020 Crab Feed, held Saturday, February 1, raised $157,000 (net) to support O’Dowd’s robust co-curricular program offerings as well as professional development for faculty and staff through the paddle raise. The event has become one of our most powerful community fundraisers, growing 70% over the last three years.
Board of Regents members, parents, faculty, coaches and staff, alumni, past parents, grandparents and friends of the school—all gathered in the small and large gyms for cocktails, conversation, bidding, and an evening that included delicious crab, pasta, and fun raffles, games, and silent and live auctions to raise funds. We were blessed to have the mood set for the evening with O’Dowd students singing gospel.
A committee of 40 volunteer parents, led by mothers Laurel Davis and Nikki Maguire, contributed to every element of the event, from communications to volunteer management. An additional 175 volunteers helped everything go seamlessly the day of the event. We are so appreciative of O’Dowd’s faculty, staff, and coaches for the many ways they also supported the event, from set-up to serving and bidding. The O’Dowd community is truly blessed to garner this level of volunteer support—a beautiful testament to our community’s heart and generosity.
Whether you volunteered, attended, or otherwise supported the 2020 Crab Feed, thank you, O’Dowd community!
