Why I Teach:
Most powerful teaching technique:
Vocabulary! Whether that is in choreography, verbiage, or scientific/anatomical discussion. We have to talk about it, then do it to understand it! We get to wiggle and move as we understand how our bodies work.
Why are the subjects you teach important?:
Dance is a universal language that changes mindsets and reaches everyone. We all speak with our bodies, now we are just adding regimented technique and specificity to it.
Favorite quotes:
Favorite trivia:
Giraffes' spots grow darker with age.
Recommended visual media:
Recommended reads:
Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by David Sedaris, Bossypants by Tina Fey, The Creative Habit by Twyla Tharp, any auto biographies by artists, comedians, or people in history!
Hobbies or outside interests:
Skiing, cross stitch, kickball, and cooking!
