Why I Teach:
I believe that the Lord has given us gifts and talents to be utilized in different industries. I enjoy partnering with students in overcoming obstacles/removing barriers that may hinder them from being in an industry that the Lord has called them to use their gifts.
Most powerful teaching technique:
PEEER approach
Patience - Being patient and reminding students to be patient with their journey
Excitement - Celebrate student victories
Encouragement - Cheering them on as they work towards their goals
Empathy - Listening to students' concerns and processing with them
Resourceful - Staying informed about resources/networks for students
Why are the subjects you teach important?:
Academic support is important because it allows students to learn study/learning strategies. These strategies will help students to deepen their conceptual understanding of the topics being taught.
Career counseling is important because it provides students with the necessary information and resources needed to create and implement their post-secondary plan.
