O'Dowd Reunion Day

Join us Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Bishop O’Dowd High School to celebrate with classmates and fellow alumni from the Dragon community!  


The O’Dowd Reunion Day will celebrate milestone reunions for classes 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019! All alumni 21+ are invited to attend.

Golden Grad Celebration & Ceremony

Our Golden Grad Celebration and ceremony will honor the Class of 1974 and their 50th Reunion with a short program and diploma ceremony. Classes of 1955-1973 are strongly encouraged to join us as we welcome the newest class into the Golden Era of reunions.

Walk through the Cummins Center,  Living Lab, classrooms, and more while taking a trip down memory lane.

 

Dinner + Drinks

Food, non-alcoholic beverages, beer + wine

O’Dowd Spring Musical at the James T. Bill Theater

Production TBD. Tickets can be purchased for an additional $5.

When is the O’Dowd Reunion?

The O’Dowd Reunion will be in-person and will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:30pm, with a special ceremony at 2:00pm to honor the Class of ‘74’s Golden reunion. The event will be in-person, providing guests the ability to catch up with one another and connect with more of the O’Dowd community.

 

Will there be a Golden Grad Celebration & Ceremony?

Yes, a celebration for the class of 1974’s 50th Reunion will begin at 2:00pm. Alumni who have already celebrated their Golden reunion (1955-1973) are invited to the Golden Grad Celebration and diploma ceremony.

 

Who will receive an invitation?

The 2024 O’Dowd Reunion Day invitations were mailed out to all members of milestone classes: 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019! All alumni 21+ are encouraged and welcome to attend. Make sure your contact information is up-to-date! Update Contact information here

 

I would like to tour the Bishop John S. Cummins Center. Will it be open?

Yes! We absolutely love to show you our new center! We will have tours scheduled throughout the evening. 

 

Will there be a student production that weekend on campus?

Yes! Mama Mia! Stay tuned for more information. Tickets can be added through Reunion Day registration.

 

How do I RSVP?

Alumni may register for the O’Dowd Reunion Day at bishopodowd.org/reunion24.

 

I graduated in a different O’Dowd class than those being celebrated, am I invited?

Absolutely! All alumni 21 years of age and older are welcome to attend.

 

May I bring my children?

Unfortunately, no. This is a 21+ event. We hope you will come and enjoy yourself!

 

Will current and former faculty, staff, teachers and coaches be there?

We try our best to invite our current and former faculty, staff, teachers and coaches back to campus to relive memories with our alumni. 

 

Cancellation Policy

We understand that life happens. Tickets are non-refundable, however, if you are unable to attend, we can help transfer your ticket. If you have someone that will be attending in your place, please let us know so we can adjust the registration information for event check-in.

 

Safety Protocol

This year’s event will be inside our new Cummins Center. Covid safety protocols will be in alignment with Alameda County and Bishop O’Dowd High School.

 

What should I wear?

Black & Gold! Casual attire with a coat for the cool Bay Area evening. 

 

Will I be able to park on site?

There is limited on-site parking. We encourage everyone to carpool with a designated driver or use a rideshare service to attend this event.

What other ways can I get involved?

  • Attend Reunion Day on Saturday, May 4, 2024.

  • Personally invite classmates to the Reunion Day (in-person, social media, phone).

  • Lend your name for class-wide communications encouraging attendance (mail, email and/or text). 

  • Locate contact information for classmates.

  • Recruit other O’Dowd alumni to volunteer in preparation up to and at the Reunion Day on Saturday, May 4, 2024.

  • Make a gift in honor of your milestone reunion celebration.

  • Help solicit classmates by lending your name for class-wide communications encouraging them to join you in giving back (mail and email).

Reunion Day 2023 Recap

Thank you to all of those who joined us in May for the milestone celebrations for Classes of 1958-2018! We had more than 300 alumni in attendance and we look forward to sharing more memories soon.
